Faustina Daniels, a Conference member of the Methodist Church. And also for a quarter of a century the Ebusuapayin of Anona Ebusua of Amissa Powmu, Cape Coast.  These two offices to which she dedicated her energy and powers of leadership until her death on March 5, 1988. When she was 86 years.

Born in Cape Coast on the 30th of April 1901, she was the eldest child of Mr. & Mrs. Ebenezer Onyibi Coleman. She attended school in Sekondi, thereafter at the age of 13 years; she attended Wesley Girls High School.  She quickly developed to become one of its outstanding scholars.

In form five, she was selected as one of the second batch of twelve students to take the preliminary of third grade College of Perceptions (teachers) examination at which she was successful in the following year.  She then sat for and was again successful at the junior grade college of Preceptors Examination.

In view of her brilliant examination record she was immediately appointed Head teacher matron of her Alma mater, where she taught for a few years.

In 1921, at Sekondi, she was married to the late Edwin Philip Daniels, a merchant with whom she had five sons and three daughters (two medical practitioners, a dental surgeon, a law professor and a civil engineer),  (Fashion designer, two Office administrators).

In 1928, when her Husband finally settled in Cape Coast, after years of traveling to other parts of the country on business transfers.  She decided to open her home as a hostel for young females in search of a vocational training.  She started it with two girls from Aburi and six more from her own family.  They were trained not only to become dressmakers but also to be prepared for marriage in the future.  Their number soon rose to eighteen excluding day students.

In 1948, following a nationwide strike organized to support political demands; several students and some teachers were expelled from their schools.  They then became the nucleus of Ghana National College, which was found by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana.  As the new college faced accommodation problems for its female students, Mrs. Daniels was approached and she readily agreed to offer accommodation for twenty of the students.  It is in recognition of her services to the college that a house is named after her. (Faustina Daniels House)

A woman of devout Christian faith, she remained an active member of the Methodist Church and served as a class leader, local preacher and conference member, and the highest legislative organ of the church.  She was also patron of its youth and Women's fellowship.

Aunty Fausty, as she was affectionately known, devoted much of her life to many good causes, She was a member of the Board Governors of Wesley Girls High School, and was twice its female President.  She was also a member of the Board of Governors of Ghana National College; she served on the hospital committee, Red Cross and Girl Guides Association.

Her family and friends will sadly miss our dearest Mother, but her memory of her rich life and times will always remain in our hearts.

The strife is o'er, the battle done, now is the victors triumph won, Now be the song of praise begun, "Alleluia" Da Yie.
